Geo-Advantec Presentation at City and County Engineers Association and Iranian American Society of Civil Engineers in August 2019
Dr. Shawn Ariannia had two presentations at City and County Engineers Association and Iranian American Society of Civil Engineers about Preventive Pavement Maintenance. He discussed the most cost- effective policy to prolong pavement life through implementing pavement preventive maintenance rather than allowing pavement to deteriorate to a highly distressed condition before restoration. He provided examples on highway agencies’ shift toward implementation of a more comprehensive prevention program due to funding limitations. The presentation discussed summary of recent and ongoing studies about the concept of Optimal Timing of Application of Preventive Maintenance. He also talked about the importance of geotechnical aspects of pavement engineering.
